Mine & Cajuns story.
Let me introduce ourselves. My name is Alex and his name is Cajun. His name is Cajuns Bold Ruler. his great great grandfather is bold ruler. It doesn't really matter but i was so exited when i found out! So that means he's pretty fast. He's a thoroughbred gelding. Never raced but his history involved abuse and neglect. But he knows he's a spoiled pony now(:. Anyways i have been riding for 7 years. When i was 4 my moms friend asked me to come and see his ranch. At that moment i was the happiest kindergartner on the earth. I was so happy to just muck a bunch of stalls out! A few months later i got my first horse Honey. A palomino, who had very bad legs. We gave him to a forever home. At the age 7 i found my best friend. Marla, she was a pure thoroughbred. Not the prettiest, but once we both looked at each other we connected. It sounds dumb but i had to have her. everyone said "ew shes old, shes shaggy, she's too skinny" I honestly didn't care. About a year later we did CGA. And competed in Barrel racing and Pole bending. We won 1st place. Everyone looked at us, the 4 ft little girl with the 16 hand 24 year old thoroughbred. We were the best of friends. about a year or two later my mom lost her job. And i lost my horse. I cried for so long, I was promised my Marla boo would live a happy retirement and just graze in pasture by family friends. A few months later my mom told me she had bad news. Marla couldn't get up and had bad legs and she passed away. I never got to say goodbye to my best friend. I'm 15 years old and i still cry about her, letting go hurts. I remembered the memories and it always makes me happy. I still haven't moved on, But Cajun helps. Just being around horses make me happy. They're my life, my therapists and my everything.
